Being right isn't always fun

Last night, I was feeding [livejournal.com profile] schr0dinger dinner while we watched Batman (TAS). Once I'd gotten all the food into him that was going to go, he crawled over to cuddle with [livejournal.com profile] ricevermicelli. After a few minutes I looked over and saw him folded at the waist, basically hanging from her knees, with his head on her lap. It was cute, but I had a concern and said "Hey babe, he just ate. You probably don't want his head lower than his belly."

2, 1, boom.

He seemed cheery enough about having puked all over everything within an arms reach...

I'm so sorry that you had to have a, uh, lecture-demo. At least he was in good spirits about it?

Early in N's toilet training, she came over to my house with her parents and we were hanging out and suddenly hear the telltale sound and look over and indeed, there is pee all over my (thankfully hardwood) floor. "Did you just pee on the floor?" we asked her. "It's okay," she said cheerfully. "You can clean it up!"

and here i was about to say - "of course he was cheery; he knew he didn't have to clean it up."

Actually, so far as I can tell, once we got started cleaning up, he wanted to help. And was upset that we told him not to move from where he was.

In general, I'll put up with doing more work in order for him to help with what I'm doing, call it an investment. Not this time...

Early in my EMT days, I learned how valuable receiving blankets are: at the end of a call, after I handed a young'n to the nurses at the hospital, I felt an odd, wet sensation down my back.

Eh, life happens.

That's why it's called a receiving blanket.
