Question for you.

I was reminded today that, as happens roughly every seven years, the super bowl will be happening on my birthday. The super bowl is always big, but this is the first time that restaurants have told me that they'll be closed that day (something about "history" and "perfect").

Watching a game on television seems to lack some sort of birthday quality.

Any ideas what to do?

Dali! They are open and have plenty of seating on that day. It's lovely.

i was going say -- i have a friend who always goes to dali on superbowl sunday because they will be open, and less crowded that usual :)

The problem is, Dali is a pain to get a table at, and will flat-out lie about their table availability over the phone. And the no-res policy may make sense for them, but dang is it a pain for the babysitter dependant, who want to have dinner, not stand around the bar for an hour and a half waiting for a table. So I dunno.

I love the food though, and if danceboy can put up with the wait, so can I.

I mostly used to go to Dali when I lived a block away, so I'd just put my name in and go home with whoever I was having dinner with and hang out there until the right time to go back. But I did find that they usually have a short wait if you arrive at 6:15pm or earlier. I don't know how that translates to Sundays.
