26.2 miles
Oct. 19th, 2008 04:32 pmI had some goals going into this marathon. Goal 1 was to finish. Goal 2 was to not finish last. Goal 3 was to beat five hours. After that, things got hazy.
I accomplished all 3 of my goals. I took something like 4 hours and 50 minutes to run 26.2 miles (yes, I am that slow), but I did it. If you see me limping for the next week, well, yeah.
I'm thrilled that I managed it, and I'm in pain...
Edit: Official results are in; 4:50:52.

Date: 2008-10-20 01:50 pm (UTC)I'm even happy with it today, which I only find noteworthy because everyone told me I'd be depressed today, and I'm not. In pain, but not depressed...

Date: 2008-10-20 07:04 pm (UTC)I ran my first marathon in August and, after a month and a half of no motivation, now I'm looking for the next one.
Re: Congratulations!
Date: 2008-12-22 06:40 pm (UTC)Anyway, thank you! Some months later I'm down to 25 miles to go to manage 1200 miles for the year. This is complicated by the foot and a half of snow we got over the weekend...
